Title: Rear End Plans
Post by: Car nut on 08 July 2009, 14:16
Well its been all go the last few days for me.

Last Tuesday I got a phone call about my M5, friday it was RAC surveyed an nice chap unlike Voodoo Music's experience

Just a small leek on the diff a suspected O ring needed replacing and some pixels missing on the LCD display. Anyway we did a deal and the car went Saturday - off to Hampshire ... Now to find its replacement  :smug:

Then yesterday my old daily hack Sold so from 3-1 car in a number of days. Plus the wifes A3 Cab now were totaly a VAG household

So back to the Mk4, looking at doing the rear end next as they do look a bit bland from the rear IMO

My ideas

1) Debadge - Golf - VW - GTI
2) Fit - R32 rear spoiler ( Suggestions where to get them the cheapest please no fiberglass ones)
3) Respray bumper + Tailgate obviously
4) New valance (Suggestions where to get them the cheapest please)
5) As doing the ar53 may as well do exhaust, thinking of going Blueflame direction twin pipe again if you know a cheaper place to get them let us know )

Any pointers appreciated plus if you have any other suggestions for the rear would like to hear them , dont want to remove bumper strips and flatten...

Well, I'm guessing from the car sales you will have a bit of cash to spend, so if you are wanting to avoid cheap copies / fibreglass for the valance and spoilers, either spend a bit of time on ebay looking for genuine sales / breakages, or just get them from the stealers.

No worries - its just a good guarantee of fit and alignment.

E-Types rock! Good luck with that one.
