Last week I disconnected the battery on my 8V digi for 2 hours when I removed the dash to change bulbs. Since then the MPG figure has dropped on the MFA from an average of about 30 to 21 & have confirmed it is lower by the amount of petrol going in. I once heard that the ECU resets to factory deafults when the battery is disconnected for more than 15 minutes. Is this true? If so, how do I get the settings back to what they were? Any comments & ideas greatly appreciated.

the MPG reading comes from a vacume pipe off the inlet manifold. the ecu has nothing to do with it afaik. you've probably got a small leak somewhere caused when you removed part of the dash.
