Hi all,
Apologies if this has been covered. I've done a search but just wanted clarification before I fork out.
I've just had a set of Sebring rims refurbed and am looking for some suitable rubber for them. They will be on a mk2 8v that's been dropped 60mm. I don't want silly stretch but I don't mind a small amount. Will 195 50 15's be ok without rubbing? Or perhaps 195 45 15 would be better just to give a slightly lower profile. Don't want 'balloon' tyres but don't want to mess up the gearing/speedo too much either.
If anyone has any pics of what they are running on Sebrings that would be great
Cheers

I've got 185 45 15 waiting to go on mine, but as they're waiting I haven't got any pics.
However - look at this thread, he's got 185 45 15 on his mk2:

195/50/15 normaly fine
-
I would run 195/50/15
-
Sebrings are sucky-minging-heavy.
I run 195/50 R15 on VAG OEM 6.5" rims (which is what Sebrings are), with no problems.
-
sebrings are 6" so you want 185's really, but as you cant get them in decent brands as far as i know 195s will do. nankang used to do a low profile 185
are sebrings heavy dh? its the first time you have mentioned it

Got Goodyear Eagle F1's 195/50/R15 on the front and Continental sommat or other 195/50/R15 on the back and the car is VERY low.
-
Well, now you ask, they're around 9.3kg each, which is very heavy for a wheel of that size, which is indeed 6J - I'm trying to wipe them from my memory. Apparently it's working.

Cheers for all the replys. So general consensus is 195 50's will be fine even with the drop? The 185 45's look a little too low profile for me but look good still.
Jay - sorry to be a hassle but you don't have any pics of your car do you?

You tried looking in his signature?

The tyres go up into the arch a bit... only prob is I have to take speed humps @ -15mph. It's worth it though and I'll put up with it until I get some decent suspension on it. Handles like a dream on the twisties.
