Title: How do you wire Electric Seats into Mk4 Golf - Help needed ASAP please!!!!
Post by: sarahs_gti on 07 July 2009, 21:04: Just want to know if anyone has wired up some electric front seats into a Mk4 Gti -

Obviously there will be no looms in the car for it, so.......

Does it have to go through a relay/fuse?
Where do you take the electric supply from for the seats?
Do you have to put a new connector onto the wires or can they be hard wired in?
Also I presume that S3 seats will fit (I know the rears will) just unsure of the front subframes, I'm led to believe they are a straight swap?

Basically my mate has an S3 interior that he wants rid of, as the front seats are electric, I don't want to buy it if they are TOO hard to wire up, not bothered about the heating part of it.

Need to give him an answer asap before he sells it to someone else, so any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Post by: jtomlin on 07 July 2009, 21:07: i did look into it a few weeks ago as im planning it myself, the rears fit marvelously, ive has my brothers in the back of mine for testers! and the fronts apparently are a straight swap too, i take it your talking a mk 1 s3? the electrics are supposedly fairly easy to do, i wouldnt know specifics mind, how much you paying?

Just the wiring side of it, pretty good with electrics, but would need to know the details of where to power them from and how to connect them as my 1 year old goes in the car a lot and I don't want anything to happen with her in it!
