My passenger window is still working at the mo but as the movement isn't smooth, it seems to be 'catching' at certain points I popped the door card off for a look.
Please excuse the less than technical terminology here. The wire cable thing is sitting really tightly against the black metal runner and when the window mechanism gets to the blue plastic clip about half way down/up it seems to be catching against it, I can see that the wire cable is begining to wear away. I think it's just a matter of time before something terminal happens. Can I fudge a repair at this stage?
Cheers for any and all advice.

Try some grease a sticking points. Other than that dunno.

Popped the door card off for another look and realised that while the wire cable thing is tight against one runner, on the other runner below the motor there's quite a bit of slack. Not having replaced a regulator before, could it be a case of take everything out of the door, take motor off, replace motor and everything else back into door and it might just work perfectly once again?
Oh and I took the drivers door card off to take a look at the set up in there and found no foamy waterproofing stuff and a lot of electrical tape! In your experiences is it best to reline with thick plastic and Duck Tape?
Cheers
