Title: 1.8t problem with gears
Post by: crusaderno10 on 06 July 2009, 21:04
Hi all, just wunderin if any ov u guys cud help ? Ive got a problem getting 3rd gear sometimes, this only seems to happen when Ive been driving for a short while or when I put my foot down.
The gear stick will move into 3rd gear about 90 % of the way but then stops, which then I hav to miss it out or drop it back down to 2nd. All the other gears seem fine and I can get them with no problems and 3rd seems fine when the cars cold.
Also when Im changing into 2nd gear and put my foot back on the accelerator the car will pick up slightly then dwindle before picking up speed again, Cud these problems be linked?
Any advice wud be greatfull, cheers.

Personally, my first port of call would be getting the G/B oil changed, then take it from there.
