Yeah just for a bearing replace (Price Down here anyway) - why do you need a new hub?

Think the old/damaged bearing was left on for too long. Prev owner had it replaced but I still got probs (brake squeek / chirping) on the same corner even after replacing the disc. Guessing the hub must be goosed too, causing the disc to run squiffy?

Don't!
I've got it booked in next week to get it looked at. Would a sticky caliper not pull under braking?

i had a wheel bearing done an in total it cost me 150
-
this happened on my mk3, the guy who i had it off left it so long the bearing collapsed snapping the driveshaft spline/nut and wearing away the hub.. (where the bearing is pressed onto)
new hub and bearing should sort it.. i got my hub from gsf for about £30 iirc.

£150???????
Oh dear, the best thing to do if your wheel baering is gone, is to get down to you local trade priced car parts place, like dodgsons!
And buy a baering. the baering kit is like 15 quid. Then get your strut off your self still attached to the hub, there is no point in seperating
the hub from the strut sometimes there a pain in the ass to separate. Take the strut(hub attached still) to a garage and they will press them out for you for like £20. Overall job £35
Thats what i have done the last 2 times.
