Feels like I've got a boost leak :undecided: I'm getting some surging at mid revs when WOT.
Are there any common weakspots / pipes to check?
BTW, I've has my bypass valve checked recently, so this should rule this out?
Running Bluefin stg2 & upgraded forge hoses.
Ta in advance.

You need access to VAG COM to do some logging. Do you have it or know anyone near who does?
-
Yup, I've got access to vag-com, but that won't tell me which pipes are prone to splitting etc.., just confirm that I've got a leak (my butt dyno has been finely tuned over the years on turbo cars LOL!)
-
The usual suspects are the IC hoses!
Also as you have the forge hoses, did you transfer the O rings on the oem couplers on to the Forge couplers?
Additionally don't exclude the DV because you've recently had it checked.
-
Thanks, I'll check these first!

....
There may be some useful info about what else to check in this thread : -

Hope this helps :afro:

Some good advice there chaps - thank you for taking the time to post.

maybe the DV ( divertor valve ) had it go on mine.

I thought the DV was different on the ed 30's?
What were your symptoms??

Different physical position to the standard GTi but unless you somehow have the latest version DV, it's still prone to tear...
-
When was the latest version of the DV fitted as standard??
Is there a different part no. for this?
-
The version I'm refering to is actually meant for the new TSI engine but works with the FSI one. It has no rubber diaphragm so won't tear like all versions for the FSI engine.

The latest part number for the DV (which incidently is actually called an 'EGR cut off valve' in case VW don't know what you're talking about) is:
06H 145 710 D
This supercedes all previous versions.
-
Yes i've just ordered this for my MK5 GTI, hoping to get it fitted in the next few weeks.
Sambo gave me the part number. He's fitted it to his and says it works a treat.

+1
My local dealer say also say this supercedes previous versions (but there is some argument about this)
I had the D revison put on as I thought (wrongly) there was a problem with my forge DV, and I can say it works just as well as the forge and is virtually silent with no whistling like the earlier "kitchen sink plunger" version!
