Title: ENGINE LIGHT BY-PASS FOR DE-CAT.

Firstly, is it possible for an error code to make a difference in performance? I get the usual error code because of the de-cat, lambda bank 1.  When i clear it, i notice a difference in torque and the less amount of throttle i need to get anywhere.

Secondly, i have heard mentioned before a resistor you can put into the wiring of the lambda sensor so that it tricks it into not turning the engine light on every 200 miles.  Is there any guide for this? I did search but it was a bit vague to say the least  :grin:

1) would have thought so as the idea of warning lights is to make you do something about it and fix the car  :tongue:  if the engine detects a sensor is down / missing then it will alter its parameters to prolong its life

2) you can either wire in a resistor or have the sensor mapped out - i know Nick @ R-Tech has done this on a few decatted cars, including Ben's  :smiley:

So message for R-Tech then lol. What can you do for me???  Its quite a treck from here tho, do you know what strenght resistor i need and where to solder etc...??

no idea if a resistor can be wired in - sorry was gueesing in my original post

i do know it can be mapped out for sure  :smiley:
