Ive come to change my rear brake pads, is it true that you need some sort of special tool to retract the piston in the caliper?

You can turn the piston back in using a small square bar or one of those square shafted screw-drivers.  Think you need to take the top off the reservoir and mind the level don't creep up and overflow, as that stuff is tres nasty!
