Title: breather pipe
Post by: shepgti on 05 July 2009, 11:44
quick question, my breather is split and ive got a couple of those breather filters lying about so was wondering if i could fit 1 of these to each end instead of a new pipe?

I would not, you will find everything under the bonnet getting covered, also you may find it not running right as it is a closed loop system, when mine split the idle was all over the shop.

the car should run alright as long as you plug the one to the inlet so there is no vacuum leak, whether the filters get oil everywhere is something i cant commment on, should keep the tb cleaner though

If its the pipe to the airfilter box you will have to blank that off as you will be drawing in unfiltered air.

i had a split in mine and i put a breather filter in the top of the engine and on the breather pipe. NO oil at all has come out so far and has worked perfect. i used an oil inhailer to block the induction kit pipe, fitted perfect lol

^^ as above

Replaced with a filter and had no issues to date (touch wood)
