Title: Axle Bushes

Hellooooo,

Can anyone explain to me what these are and what they do? All I know is they make a really annoying rattle when they're knackered and cost a lot to repair!

The Golf has a fixed rear axle which hinges just to the front of the rear wheels, the bushes are located there
