hi guys, got a mk4 golf 2.0
was looking for more base but dont really want to buy a new head unit, can u fit an amp for sub woofer into the back of the standard head unit? or do i have to buy the new cd player? thanks for any help!

Yes I have 2 amps 3 subs and 2 sets of components in mine all running off the stock head unit. All you have to do is wire two lots of female RCA conectors to the yellow plug on the back of the head unit. Hope this helps mate.

Thats just plain ridiculous! Don't do this, it'll over drive your stock HU and eventually go bang! Stop being a girl and get an aftermarket one that is made to power subs. Then refit the standard on backin when you sell the car if your that bothered.
In the long run you'll wish you bought an aftermarket one anyways so just cut out the step of messily addng in RCAs to a stock unit!

It's not messy adding the Phono's mine is really tidy and sounds great iv had no problems at all in one year of putting it in. The yellow plug is a out put port for a amp.
