hey all..
 im tryin to do a vag com run on my car but it keeps sayin

 "interface status=99, interface not ready!! possible reasons,

incorrect com port selected
interface not plugged in
k line stuck
firmware update needed...

ive installed it all corectly i think... i have the version on ebay ....

and which version of vagcom?

Have you gone into device manager and set up one of the posts to "COM1/2/3/4"? You need to do this!

I have the ebay shareware version of VAGCOM and have noticed that on my car (2001 AUM 1.8T) it will only read fault codes etc with the IGNITION OFF, if i have the ignition on it simply stops responding. BUT when i scanned a chap on heres TDi for him, it would only work with ignition ON. I'm assuming this has something to do with the older versions of vagcom and the different types of clocks?

i have the 409-1s version OBDII...

i have tried with ignition on and off...

when i go into the program options and select the COM port on

COM1,2 and 4 say "port does not exist" "interface not found"

COM 3 says
"port status: ok"
"interface: Found!"
"Type: serial pass-throught"
"Opto/Iso: NO"
"Ross-tech Design: NO"
