Post by: omex_uk on 03 July 2009, 13:32
read up about this a bit. is it something to do with the timing belt being not on the right notch?

pretty much my rev limiters set at 5000.

any help would be appreciated lads

Hi,, iv got the same problem ,, to fix it did you just adjust the distributor?? or is it the timing belt??

did you do it yourself or get a garage to sort it??

Its usually the timing belt mate! Just one notch out will do it.

Well its not running to its optimum efficiency!

Thats why its limits revs to 5000. ECU goes into "safe" mode.

It will be out only slightly. If it was to far out, more than a few teeth it wouldnt get compression.

It wont do damage at first, but would be advisable to get sorted out.
