Title: GTI front Seat seatbelt
Post by: arangatang57 on 02 July 2009, 12:45
On monday i collected my brand new white golf GTI mk 6, i was just wandering about one thing, on the seatbelt for the front pasenger seat there is la loop that sits in the middle of your chest, unlike the other seats wher the loop in in the corner of the belt is this normal, ill upload some pictures of the car later. Please let me know if you would like pictures.

My MK5 GTI has that. It's to stop the buckle falling down to the floor when the seatbelt is not in use. Usually (and on the driver's seat) there is a black plastic stud pressed into the belt but I think that it would cause (yet another) rattle issue when the belt is not in use, hence the looped belt material instead.

Obviously no point on doing it for the driver, as if the car is in use they should be wearing the belt!

That's by 2pence worth anyway.
