lol, ok what wrong with it, i see ur having no luck with the sale............. and ill be looking to get a mkIII 8v or 16v tbh, your is nice tho

I dont think you need any words of wisdom - you are wise enough if you are selling your Vauxhall for a Golf. Good move Andy. You may find a mkIII a bit wallowy to drive, but it is easily rectified with a decent set of shocks, and will provide a great ca with plenty of life.

just because its newer doesnt mean its better - these are my words of wisdom.
i swapped to a mark 1 gti from an x reg corsa sri and im more than happy with the trade. for me its about having fun when i drive rather than worrying when the airbags gonna explode in my face ;D
good luck finding the right golf and welcome to golfgti.co.uk
have fun

Welcome to a great site. All of the help and advice you need. And some u don't ;)
Nice to hear ur droping the vauxhalls for something that stays together for more than a decade.
Don't get a Mk3, go for either a Mk2 or even a Mk1 if yu can get a good one.
Sorry all u Mk3 fans. :-*
-
Dont get a Mk3 8V gti, There sssslllooooowww!!!!
Get a Mk2 Gti, Check out the "dub projects section" to see what you can do with them, You have the subtle looking Mk2 of Dizzy with a Huge 1.8T motor pushing out high BHP numbers, Blue Mk2s 8V gti with that super car look (thanks to his porche wheels) and My Mk2 (Sorry to plug my self here) With some heavy bodymods and extream styling.
Go Mk2 ;)

What's your budget?
High spec VR6, change the shocks and springs, induction... you'll be happy!
16V GTI is a cheaper option, but VR6 should be hardier.
8V is good, but not really a GTI and needs the "help" a bit more urgently.
