Title: wierd noise
Post by: stevo211 on 01 July 2009, 17:26
hey all i have a mk3 8v gti and its a bit noisy from the belts dunno which one it is yet but they are both a bit loose. It does sound like a noisy altenator or waterpump or one of the other pulleys also there is too much p/s fluid in it, i was wondering if that could make it noisy also it the water pump on the timing belt on these or the aux belt? thanks in advance

water pump and power steering are all on an auxillary belt and are easy to change. diagnosing noises has to be one of the worst things! do you have a mate or anyone with a bit of knowledge to have a listen to it for you?
