Title: Performance mod chip/resistor. Has anyone tried?
Post by: BA005 on 01 July 2009, 14:28
Has anyone installed one of these, or an equivalent..

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PERFORMANCE-MOD-INCREASE-BHP-FITS-VW-GOLF-GTI-VR6_W0QQitemZ170350512075QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item27a9ae87cb&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1683|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Claims to add an extra 20bhp. But seems all too good to be true.

Does anyone have any experience with one of these? Would be great to get some feedback before I make a purchase. I dont want to add something to my mk3 VR6 that is going to do it any harm!!

Many thanks.

Spend your 99p on an ice cream, it'll have a similar effect on the performance of your car.

It over fuels your car, burn oil, kill your cat.... and it is pointless.

These cheap resistors are a waste of time, and will damage your engine in the long run - all they do is trick the ecu making it think the car is constantly cold which just makes it run rich.

As Mickster says just buy an ice cream, you'll enjoy it in this hot weather.

incase you didnt notice, the above is sarcasm, if you are serious about fitting one of these "performance enhancers" then you should sell your car and start walking from now on
