I recently decided to do my rear beam bushes but after lots of reading i decided to have it done....
I have a local garage literally a stones throw away and thought i'd enquire.
£320 supplied and fitted he says   and only because you live close and i sometimes park my customers cars in front of your house. Or £240 because you have your own bushes
I left, went to halfords and got, brake line clamps, 8" g clamp some copper grease spray and a couple of bit and bobs. Called up two of my mates and 4 hours later my new VRS bushes were in.
Cost me about £20 for the bits and a couple of drinks fo the boys
Not as bad a job as i thought it would be though the worst part was putting the new bushes in.
No more banging over bumps on the rear and at least now i know where NOT to go for any work on my car.
£320??.......YEAH RIGHT!!

well done chap, i like a bit of inspiration to do things yourself. garages are a right con imo.
a job i want to get done soon along with some decent shocks..

VW quoted me £350
He was going to charge you £80 supplying the bushes

Seeing that the rear bushes went in fairly ok...i've decided to do the wishbones..Considering the tt bush mod but i like how soft the car is now and i really don't want it to drive harder than what it does now..
Question is when doing the wb bushes and balljoints, is it worth while doing the arb's as well?
Thanks

for what they cost I would say yes mate, I have all the bushes on the whole car to replace at some point, just need same space and enthusiasm to do it! The wishbone bushes are easy to do if you have access to a press

Are they easy to change as my rear bushes need doing
