Title: advice needed
Post by: julia on 29 June 2009, 00:43
I have purchased some 18" relica RS8 alloys, due to there been alot of speed bumps round where I live I don't really want to lower my car...The undertray allready scrapes when I go over them. Are my wheels going to look ok on the my car without lowering..or is it a must? I'm trying to think prictical .Please give me your views. Thanks

Should look OK, but the car will sit a little higher than it would normally. Are you sure it's the sump catching? Have you got mudflaps? Is it the mudflaps that are catching. They must be serious speed bumps to be catching the underside of the car if it's not lowered!

I'm not to sure now ...i just presumed it was the undertay...it's only on certain bumps it does it on.

Have a look under your car and make sure the undertray is attached properly. It shouldn't catch when not lowered

The mudflaps are the only things that have ever caught on any of my mk4's.as they've said it's possibly them

The car is in the garage waitinfg for wheels to be fitted so will have a look tomorow. When I go over the speed bumps I tend to ride so the speed bump is in the middle of my car so I can't see it been the flaps. Whilst on subject of under my car there is something rattling underneath when I go over uneven roads but can't fing anything loose? It sounds like it's round the drivers wheel. It's starting to ann0y me.Any ideas?
