did you upgrade from a 1.4? as an 8v gti owner myself, gotta say it lacks performance!
-
haha no i upgraded from a bus pass!! I know what you mean but the quote was meant as the car in general not perfomance
-
ahh right then from a bus to a gti is a big step
Overall I think the car is great, but it does lack in performance quite a lot.
-
Yeah no more annoying waiting for buses etc
It is ok but i wasnt after fast cars or nothing just love the look of them really lol
-
Its fun around town, but not something for a drag race, lets be honest.
But its a GTI just the same. So cant complain now can we.

Indeed, 8v's are good fun.
-
Nothing wrong with an 8v
-
It pisses me off when people put down the mk3 8v. ITS A VW! none the less.
Its not all about speed FFS
-
All i needed was a MK3 golf mainly so i can pick up my little girl, 8v or 16v i wasnt fussed, Its nippy enough around town and im not gonna go mad in it lol
Its comfortable and has the luxury of everything being electric and looks smart. Job done hehe
Im happy with it so there :P hehe
-
sure enough mk3 is nippy around town but thats about it. Lets be honest, as much as I love my gti i do admit it lack alot of performance. I mean, a 1.25l mk6 fiesta doesnt come far behind me.......
-
All depends in what you want it for really
Im happy and my little girls likes it :P

I did upgrade from a 1.4, and although it is quicker! its nothing to shout about at all. yes its only 115bhp so i knew i wasnt geting a quick car, i got it because its the car i wanted regardless of the speed it has! unfortunatly i have the pleasure of driving 150bh plus at work which makes it seem woefully inadequate
