Title: Fifth Gear have, this week, bought a 16V BB
Post by: kmpowell on 27 June 2009, 09:50
I like to keep abreast of 16V prices, so I regularly check dealers, classifieds etc etc. One of the dealer websites I check has this week sold a 16V BB, and they have put a note in the listing about them selling it to fifth gear!

Considering they have already done the 'improve a 16v' feature a few years ago, I wonder what FG are going to do with this one?!?  :nerd:

I can't get Five here in the valleys.  Whether that's a good thing or not is up for debate.  I do watch it on t'internet though.  I would lay good odds on them doing an old v new review on the Mk6 Gti.  Unless they are doing a best car in the world...ever bit. In which case the mighty Mk2 valver would triumph against the homoginised dross that has been churned out since 1992. Amen.

What would Jesus drive?

With a bit of luck - however, although I like the sound of that, I'm not sure I could part with mine, no matter how much I was offered (within reason!)

i'm still in love with my mk 2. Plus they are really hard to find here in the Texas area. Finding a mk2 16v, is a really rare find here.2 of the guys at our local vdub bone yard offered to buy mine. No sale. Still to date the GTIs have proven thier place many times over. But yet, no one has taken the All around 'Hot Hatchback' i've watched the faces of honda heads when the GTI gets brought up in conversation, they shut down, or start talking combos, to beat the little dub. A quick story, A friend of mine and me went out for a back country drive. He'd done the coil over and the other suspention mods and some other stuff to boost performance. Sadly as it is was, the honda still had to work to keep up, mine is stock, & running badly(I might add) with me backing off, to a more casual driving style. 16v MK2s rule!!....
