Hi all, im trying to decide what rims i should stick on my golf, i cant spend mega bucks, and im not going over 15 inches.
whacha think folks?(http://www.phillhetherington.com/mygolf.jpg)
-
classic look or trying to do something different?
-
im thinking deep dish
maybe something like borbet E's
alternatively i was thinkin of kersher crown(http://www.phillhetherington.com/crown.jpg)
-
those kersher's would look superb and make a nice change to bbs splits :)
-
those kersher's
8)
you might aswel go for 16's for that little extra? ???
-
unfortunately, those kerchsers only come in 17's :(
would they go straight on without rubbin n what not?
my golfs been dropped 40mm already
im definately not up for rolling the arches.
-
Borbet b2's look good ;)
-
would need some mods for 17's but for those kersher's, oh so worthwhile :)
-
they are nice arent they, but there about 300 quid per wheel and start at 17x8
tyres would be an absolute nightmare so ill have to rule them out
would i need any mods to fit 16's ?
theres some other quite tasty kershcer wheels at
http://www.dubmeister.co.uk
-
yeah that's just a bit painful!
6 by 16's with 195's fit without bother i think

Ive got 17x7 with an et37 offset and the car has been lowered 40mm.. these do not rub the arches while driving out.. been over some big bumps and doesnt rub.. the only time it rubs is at full lock on the inside of the arch.. But thats a full lock.. i just try not to use full look now..
I like the look of them though.. and it handles well.. I know alot of peeps use the 15" cos they recon it handles best but i liked the big wheel look and with the amount of police in my area u cant go mental n e ways.
Cheers
Dave

Hey philly, if I were u mate id just stick to those standard little bbs 14s u got cos ur gonna need all the speed u can get when I thrash u'r little arse in my 16 valver :P ;D
-
what about Borbet As? nice and deep dishy....
Gav ;)
-
Brock B1, nice and deep dish, affordable, and im blatantly biased towards 5 spokes ;D
(whilst I cant afford some properly nice BBS splitty's anyway... damn you madone!)
Possibly Borbet A's & BBS Carmona's are fairly affordable and come in 16's
But these are sweeet! (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=18619&pos=0)
-
yep those brocks are v nice,
thanks for the input ppl
oh and philladamz16v, i will destroy your valver even if i have to get me some NOS
::)
-
Not if i get some NOS 2 philly boy ;D
-
touche
-
Ronal LS, but then I would say that.
-
In fact, scrub that, looking at your car a set of ATS Cups would look the absolute bo**ocks.?
-
nice choice alex, maybe a bit too old school for a jetta front end though? i duuno
cheers though
-
I agree the LS's would be too old skool, but your car could carry the cups off.
-
yup i agree,
im going with the 14x8 steffan cups on 195 45's, the 8 inches wide will give them the DEEP look that i want and hopefully the tyres will have that cool stretched on look. ...know what i mean, sort of radial.
on 195 45's
my only concern is that the rims might not fill the arches enough.
Here's a techy question.
my golf is currently dropped 40 mil which was done at www.awsome-gti.co.uk? but before i owned it. now theyve done a quality job cos the car is absolutely glued to the road.
supposing i want to drop another 20 mil or so, what would i need to change?
the whole shock or what?
that should sort the gap in the arches out if i put the cups on.
-
Dunno how the arches will handle that drop with 8x14s on to be honest. Are you sure you want 14's?
-
yeah, u may have a point about the arhces rubbing.
hmmmm
-
Nah, they might fit but they might not!? I dont know either way!
Also you could try these, they seem to look cool with a Jetta front:

-
NAHH? I'm back on the ATS Cup vibe again!!
I'm getting well into this now!!? ?Excuse the crap photoshop, I used MS Paint!
But you gotta admit, they look the nutz.
-
they do look good m8 :o
-
but there still too old school for me
here's the steffan cups(http://www.phillhetherington.com/stefcup.jpg)
and heres some other (i can have these fitted with tyres for 300
(http://www.phillhetherington.com/blades.jpg)obviously they wouldnt be this big.
-
Better get yourself some big brakes!!
-
well, its decided then
14x8 steffan cups,
this topic is done i think
i'd better get saving
watch out for pics when its done.
and finally thanks all for your input ;D
