right i'm completely new to VAG-COM so don't really know what i'm talking about LOL
i've downloaded an 'old' version 704 which hopefully will prove to be useful????
i need to know what cable i need to buy in order to connect my computer to my car? i assume at the computer end it will be USB but what connection will i have/need at the car end?
my car is a 1997 (feb) Gti 8v AGG engine.

GTIadam i am looking into getting one of these cables, but on some of the sellers feedback it says you dont get the full version of VAGCOM, what do you get and does it read all faults or what? Cheers dude

some cables i've looked at say car from 2001 onwards
does the mk3 use the OBDII connection?

If you want the full version it will cost £99. The trial will do the basic tasks, read and clear codes.
