right.. getting fed up buying glues and pads and stuff from halfords that just don't work
can anyone tell me a decent glue for bonding a rear view mirror to glass.. the contact plate is metal which should bond to the glass... but as yet... hasn't!

Not sure who makes it I believe it was loctite but they do a kit with a small bit of mesh plus a little tube of glue, my god would it ever stick.

Guy, this is the stuff you need, used by VAG on the line, though you may need a contact with a wurth account to get you some,
http://www.wurth.co.uk/catalogue/pdfs/UK-CD_03_0235.pdf
Its not cheap, but it works! lmk if you cant get hold of any, and I'll have a word with my rep, to see if he can get some to you..

i don't know anyone with a wurth account - how much is that stuff?
tbh it is doing my head in... i let the glue set overnight on that loctite mesh thing.. attached the mirror and it fell off... 4th time of trying so won't bother again

I have used that loctite stuff many times before with no issues so cannot see why it will or has not worked.

think mr trimmydizzle may have a wurth account now :)

Guy, I saw the rep today, that gear is more expensive than I remembered, £25+ the dreaded, If you want some Ill PM you his number, he can take a credit card payment over the phone, and get it straight to you
My guess is that your windscreen may have some sort of contamination, possibly silicon based polish that you are only moving around, and not removing, when you clean it, also some adhesives need UV to set, and some must not get any UV at all while setting!

I'm sure the tech in your local autoglass would do it for a tenner!!!
