Has the window come off the runner or have them plastic clips broke?

What a night mare, my repair kit turned up today and i thought i could get away with just changing the metal clamps

But no, this was the regulator i took off

so i had to change the whole thing and when doing so the new regulator went twang and all the cable come flying off...

3 hours later i finally got it all fixed, and all working fine again.

fair play to the seller on Ebay, i only purchased the repair kit thursday nite and it arrived this AM

so from when the fault happend it only took 48hrs to get all fixed and at a cost of £42.

After a stressful day, ive now had a few beers to calm it all down

been there done it with both of mine, my regulator was in the same sort of state too

if you haven't done the other one get it done now before it fails and puts you in the same position...

Mine has just gone this weekend, 1998 GTI. I was driving over the ButterTubs pass in Swaledale (Dales) got a bit chilly over the top went to close the passenger window which was only  3rd of the way open and.......bang no bloodly glass dropped right down into the door, thankfully with out smashing.

Read this last night and now have brought a repair kit £69 + VAT to do the job. On looking back the drivers side was replaced 5 years ago. So hopefully no problems there but will get another kit on stand by just in case.

Great read and thanks for the links.
