Hi,
It's been well over 4 years..... I have missed this place and my car so much. For those that knew me the last contact I had with anyone here was at Inters in 2004 where I had some very bad luck. Rich and Co took care of me that day! I stayed in touch for a while after until there was nothing left that could be done for my beaten up car, we parted company nearly four years ago, she's back on my drive and straight too!... still needs work. Anyway, i'll stop rambling on, I just wanted to say hi and that I'm back, will probably need help along the way and I hope that my old friends from here are still here! Maybe eventually I can get my site associate status back too if ive lost it! Still got the T-Shirt!!!!

I remember driving past you on my way to inters that day and thinking what a bl00dy shame that another mk1 had bitten the dust. Glad to hear it's back, if I remember correctly weren't the A pillars creased??? How much work has had to be done? Oh and where are the new pics?????!!!!!

Like I said the cars straight but doesnt run yet (OTT CLIFFORD GONE TITS UP plus engine electrics in a bit of a mess). we need to spend some quality catch up time together!

Welcome back matey. There's still a few people about that you'll recognise.
tobz reminded me of your car when he mentioned creased pillars and I seem to recall it being on a trailer. Also, wasn't it the mk1 that had 3 spoke wheels on it at one point ?

Yeah, it was pretty twisted, you wouldnt know to look at it now. Three spokes are still on it  lol. that was the whole reason i was going to inters to see what i could find to finish the car! I will sort some pics out, before crash, crash and now. it needs paint and electrics are fooked. the clifford on it was state of the art at the time. now its the bain of my life. the looms are not pretty! been on it all night.... i so want to get her started!

i will never be free of the cab i'm afraid. not least cause i went to some psychic thing and the medium picked me out in teh audience, mentioned the yellow cab in detail and told me i must never sell it   it has had loads of work done on it now but i rarely use it. i havent even bothered to tax it this year although im starting to regret that with this heatwave. the white one i owned before and it came back to me from an ex so its a running project for the next 20 years or so. i dont drive a vw daily and i think i may have grown up a bit
good luck putting yours back together.. has anything been done to it since the crash. what happened with the insurance?? was it recorded?

Well my white one was a daily drive and so was the black one for 3 months untill the smash. I never got over the cause of the accident and i'm angry even 5 years on!  I now have a company car which is a god send because i had some right non vw trouble makers inbeween just putting me in more debt!.... Yeah dont ever sell the cab, when i last saw it, it was really smart and you'll know you'll regret it. I thought i'd never seen mine again, have grown up a bit too but thats what makes these mark 1's so good, they're for big kids! Hope you have a go at the white one!
She's had quite a bit done, was never claimed on nor recorded, been on a jig, new inner wing, new slam panel and front valance. cars perfectly straight. just to stop her looking poorly, there is another wing and bonnet fitted which are from an old red gti, they have been hand painted black just so its complete for now, better panels required. Gonna ask for a spot in the project section.

Whats the state of play at the moment with it?
-
Yeah...its actually looking a lot better today after the guy has came around and done some work...
kinda lost some bits though so may be a struggle trying to finish it
I seriously wouldn't advise anyone tryin to have a go unless they are capable..mind, I don't think I've ever seen electrics like mine
Good luck with whatever you decide! :afro:
