Title: Options for seat on the verge of tearing
Post by: maxp on 24 June 2009, 23:06
The fabric on various parts of my mk2 drivers seat is really worn, thin, and close to wearing out on the seat cushion part.

Was thinking of something along the lines of this: (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a111/Fiesta_Classic/my%20golf/DSC00913.jpg)

Has anyone else tackled this problem?

swap the bases over as passenger base and drivers base are the same at least you will prevent the drivers seat getting worse till you can find a replacement

Will the fact that the drivers base seat tilts up and down while the passengers doesnt mean i will lose that functionality or can that be 'transplanted' aswell?

you need to take off the cushion part of the seat base and swap them over then the seat recline will still work as this is part of the top half of the seat, all it will be on the passenger seat is a broken cable still get replacements from gsf
