Had the mk2 I picked up a couple of weeks ago inspected today, new clutch cable fitted which it def needed ! I have been advised to replace the complete suspension including wishbones - it seems that its been done in the past so not standard but nothing to crazy - I dont want anything too expensive or mad (drop wise) - just want to get it roadworthy.
The cheapest reasonable replacements I can find are Bilstein STREETLINE Suspension Kits @ £223.13 inc vat which I thought was pretty good. The other is the GSP suspension kit @ £180 but cant find any reviews of this setup.
Any suggestions or thoughts about this? I am new to the mk2 scene so its a learning curve for me - please go easy on me
and I did search but the amount of hits I got just confused me more trying to find info which was useful.
TIA

I've run a streetline kit I bought on one of my old MKII's, I was really impressed with it. Not as good as the Koni/Eibach set up on the one before that but it was half the price and I would say it was better than half as good if that makes sense.

makes perfect sense, I keep seeing this Koni/Eibach setup being mentioned but I dont want to be spending loads, afterall its actually ok as it is just the springs have corroded so need replacing.

I ended up buying the Jamex Kit (shocks and springs) off ebay for £139 - fitted today, although a little lower than planned it looks ok and has done the job. Has new wishbones and bottom ball joints fitted too.
Next onto a sticky clutch cable and odd creak from the steering

I used to have a creaky steering wheel, tightening up the stalks a spot more fixed mine.
For anyone else reading the Streetline kit is comparable to OE, its not meant to be uprated, sportline is the uprated stuff - I think :D

I think your right, sportsline is more uprated to the streetline.
