Afternoon all!

Been lurking around the site for a while now so thought I'd show my face. JP from Bath. MKIII Gti 16V: owned for 5 years, 114K, totally original...until now. Mrs has got herself a MKVI TDi which means I get to do fun things with my car. (once I've worked out how to insert image I'll pop one up in the MKIII forum)

Car's just gone to Streetwise Automotive (the nicest fellas!) in Bristol for MOT, ABS pump n sensor problems (no surprise there) and some rear brake issues. Once I've paid that bill, it's gonna be discs, pads, coilovers, remap, wheels, exhaust (in that order I think??). Too many other things I wanna do but we'll see how that goes - gotta grade 1 listed flat that needs my attention too (as I'm frequently reminded  :wink:)

Hey man

Welcome to the forum.  I'm in Bristol so it's always nice to hear recommended mechanics etc.  Can you tell me a bit about streetwise as I'm going to need to throw some cash at my MK3 8V soon I'm sure  :grin:

Hey man

I heard about Streetwise through this site. From what I've heard Mitch (owner) used to run the workshop at VW Heritage for about 8 years before starting up on his own. They've got an awesome set up and friendly too - not the kinda place where people just want to take your cash off you and laugh in your face because you don't know what an Escutcheon is (don't ask  :rolleyes:). They've taken the time to listen to my plans and they're proactively suggesting stuff - doesn't get better IMO.

Oh, and no I don't work for them or anything, I just think credit where credits due you know? I'm genuinely that impressed by their service and attitude. www.streetwise-automotive.co.uk/

Straight black 5 door - all original right now but like I said in my 1st post, things are happening. TBH, outside is the last thing to be done, though got probs with clear coat coming off in places. Mechanics + performance + height 1st, paint after.

Also, I might be a bit dumb but how the hell do you upload an image into a post with out directing to a URL like it says in the help section?????? Any help really appreciated!

Cheers Len! Not used to doing it this way. Well here she is - looking tired on top but great underneath. Will post more in the MIII section as things progress. (tried to resize the image - hope it's not giant!)
