Title: Glass Scratch removal
Post by: rskardon on 24 June 2009, 16:55
Hi Guys,

Seems the glass on the GTI is really easilt scratched, in dusk light my windscreen shows tons of scratches from the wipers, is it possible to get anything to polish it out? I tried Turtlewax glass polish but it doesnt seem to have helped a lot.

The scratches are fine but there's a lot of them. Being an older GTi i have the lue glass which i guess will be hard to replace with blue again so would rather not change it,

R

Never had to on my windscreen so can't tell you if it does a good job or not.

fwiw do not scrap ice off your screen in winter as the scraper also scratches the glass.

easier to get glass replaced, if you tell them the model year they should source the correct colour glass for you.

Does that also work on the VW OEM tinted glass?

Not true, I got a stone chip last year and had MY05 GTI replaced with a blue tint (rather than green) by Autoglass.
