My son! He recently aquired a Mk3 GTi
Not sure if he is going to keep it or not, paid very little for it and as far as I can see it is in good nick for a car that age.
It's a bit gutsy for it's intended use, short trips round his window cleaning round, but needs must as they say.
Due to his job he doesn't get much time on the net, whereas I have the luxury of being able to be 'on' 12 hours a day at work so I can ask questions for him regarding this little beauty.
M reg in chilli pepper red, for some reason it had Astra side skirts on, they have been taken off, to see how much damage the self tappers did and if they were hiding something underneath. Bit of rust around the ends of the sills. From what I could see it' mainly surface and should not present too much trouble to tidy them up. Don't know if he will fork out for a correct set of sill covers or not.
I'm not au fait with the marque so can't say whether or not it needs these covers for looks or not.
I would appreciate input from other members about that so that I can pass it on to him.
There are a few stone chips and a few scratches plus a fist sized patch on the drivers door that a previous owner has sprayed with the wrong colour, again this is only surface so can be repaired quite easily.
It may be that he decides it's not for him in which case, for him, I will put it up for sale on here for the enthusiasts.
Having just read the 'rules' about newbies I now see why we cannot PM other members, good idea by the way, as you say stops the untermensch from posting for sale items then buggering off.
So that's it, oh apart from the location, he's in Letham near Forfar, North East Scotland, I live in Spain and work offshore, mostly in the North Sea but soon to be Nigeria.
Cheers guys
Jon

Thanks for the welcome(s).
I should be able to post a bit more news after today, I get back to the lads place tomorrow afternoon, still plenty of daylight to see what's what. I'll have a good poke around the car, maybe take some pics and post them up, introduce him to the joys of the forum then bugger of home to Spain and leave him to it.
