It has a black..er..thing?.. with wires out one end and a metal rod out the other (motor i think)
Then we have 2 long red pipes, 1 short red pipe, 1 long blue pipe, 1 medium blue pipe and 1 medium length orange pipe... Any ideas how they all link up i.e which colour to which pump??? Is there any online instructions for this or could someone tell me roughly whatit will cost to fit.. Thought as i can manage ice install this shouldnt be too hard???? PLZ PLZ PLZ somene help me!!

Sounds like a proper vacuum operated VAG kit!

Right, you should have:
The big black pump thing goes in the boot behind the rear light on the passenger side
You should have 1x 'actuator' lock for the driver side which turns on the pump in the boot
2 for rear doors
1 for boot
1 for fuel flap

Just take your time and try to identify which bits go where, lay it out on the floor and I'm sure it will begin to make sence :)

Heres the haynes manual diagram:

Len405: I don't know if the MK3 uses the vaccum system sorry :)

Gibson:  The doors etc will all have the required mounting holes, as should the boot.  I'm not sure how the petrol flap lock works tbh, but I do know you need to get a flap with a pin on the top corner which goes through a hole in the bodywork (its covered by a rubber bung on a non CL car)  What colour is you car mate theres a few CL cars in my scrappy...
This is all the text the haynes manual has about it:
1 The central locking system fitted to some
models comprises the following (see
illustration):
a) Pressure/vacuum pump
b) Control element - on driver?s door
c) Shift elements - on remaining doors and
fuel tank flap
d) Interconnecting tubing.
2 To remove the pressure/vacuum pump,
release the rubber strap in the luggage
compartment, remove the cover, then
withdraw the pump and disconnect the wiring
and tube.
3 To remove a control or shift element, first
remove the door, tailgate, or luggage
compartment trim panel (as appropriate). On
door elements, carefully peel back the
protective foil. Remove the element mounting
screws and disconnect the tubing. On the
driver?s door only, disconnect the wiring.
Disconnect the operating rod (except on the
fuel tank flap) and withdraw the element.
4 Refitting is a reversal of removal. Ensure
that the door protective foil is firmly stuck to
prevent water penetration and use doublesided
tape to secure it if necessary.

Thanks. I have the petrol flap with the pin already. I have been told that I can just block the pipe which is used for the petrol flap as i dont want to use it - its red and my car is black plus i believe there is some drilling required (although im nt certain of this)..

Am going to try and fit it tomorrow but im not sure if i have all the electrical wiring. I dont have a 3 pin connector but there is a place for one in the main pump?? Is this just for power and will the plug already be in the car??

the mk3 did have a vacume CL setup. the mk4 was the first to employ the electric type. Personally I'd buy an electric kit as the vacume ones are annoying when they get a pressure leak that's hard to trace.

your best finding a mk2 in the breakers with central locking they you can rip it apart and have a look at what goes where. you can get the missing bits too.

Does anyone haveany ideas or know where i can find info on how to wire this up. The main door pump has red, blue, brown, purple and black wires (in that order). Where do these go?? any help much appreciated.. Also there are other wires but i think these relate to leccy windows (2wires) as these dont come from the pump they are just taped in with the other wires.. Please help
