i had some good news today , at the end of april i went in to my garage and some how knocked a small ladder of my wall and on to
the golf , just two little dings and it cut the rubber which goes down the door. so got away with it cus could have been a lot worse. anyway a friend was going to do it but could not get the rubber of the door .
since i have had the car in bright sun light you can see a slite ghost mark on the door under the lacker.
my friend said it mite be a paint defect and a warranty claim. so took it to vw and they took pictures
of it and sent them of . heard nothing for EIGHT WEEKS , so was going to claim for ladder damage on house insurance
which would have also got shot of the mark on the door . would have cost me £1oo excess .
vw phoned today and the warranty claim has been past , so it will kill two birds with one stone ....
mind you it took 8 weeks and now i just hope they do a good job with it...

Good result (hopefully!!!)

you could ask them although they may charge you for this as its not part of the work they will be doing under your paint warranty

just wondered that was all . seen some silver cars that have had the door painted and they look a diffrent colour
all togeather . its the colour match that i am worried about

as the work is being done at vw's bodyshop it should be 100% colour match you shouldn't expect anything less from a bodyshop imo

Silver cars are difficult to colour match, they will probably blend the adjacent panels to get a good finish. here's hoping - I have yet to find a truly decent bodyshop.
