91 16V - Whenever I go over a bump in the road I get a rattle that sounds like the boot lock being loose. However, It seems fine to me, locks and opens fine and the boot doesn't budge when I try to lift it up and down when locked. :undecided:
There's nothing loose in the boot; so if it is a faulty lock mechanism, can I just change over the locking mechanism or do I have to change the key barrel as well?
Ta.

take the plastic trim off and have a look at all the gubbins inside the tailgate. i also had an annoying noise which turned out to be the boot light switch rubbing on the tab on the tailgate.

Will do. Thanks. It's annoying me because the lock mechanism is solid. Looks like I'll have to have a bit of a rummage then.

I've got the same. I would pay big money to get this fixed as its really getting on my t*ts

Have you tried screwing out the rubber stops that are attached to the boot? Worked for me.

I wrapped some insulation tape around the Locking pin (The upright bit ) and it seems to have done the trick  Tidy Darts!
