Quite possibly the worst topic starter ever lol!
A bit more info wouldn't go a miss chap, like have you tried anything yet? Have, where on the RPM does it start to hesitate?

clean the thottle body,check the vacuum hoses for splits and then check the maintenence section as this is quite common

because i have the standard airbox on etc nd the breather pipe has come away from the air intake

which breather? if your on about the 2 little ones on the side of the box the top one goes to the TB and the other goes round to the other side of the box.

mine is different 2 that it is acctually joined 2 the air intake nd has ripped off could that be the reason y it is hesitateing and it also cuts out if you dont keep the revs up when it is cold!!!!!!!!

this might be easier to identify if you post a pic of your engine mate...
have a look through some of the project threads, there is plenty of pics of engines in there! :smiley:

and if the breather is off/broke/split it will make it can make it run bad!!

u no which 1 i am on about mate?? the one that joins the air intake from the black box on the top of the engine!!! do u have any ideas as 2 y it is cuttin out?? and hesitating?? could it be that??

wat sort of engine is agg??

What year is the car? With the 8v 92-oct 94 are 2e engine as shep posted, then from oct 94 to spet 95 there ady and all later 8v have the agg (the pic i posted shows an ady but the agg is the same)
and the 16v are all abf's

8v m reg mate got it booked in at vw 2 put on the comp so it will be an ady engine then sori if i sound thick i havent got a clue about cars :smiley: :grin:

booked at vw! :shocked: It might be worth checking if anyone local to you has vag-com (as I'm sure they will scan it for a couple of beers :wink:) or you can buy a cable from ebay and get the programme free from ross-tech :wink:

its geting done 4 free my mate works for benfield and his boss goes on holiday tomorrow :grin: :grin: so will see what it is he seems to think its the temp sensor and going to put a new air intake pipe on.
