Title: SPONGE
Post by: jeynesey on 15 June 2009, 15:23
Hi all, when I first had a car I was naive, some may say stupid and always used sponges to wash it.....

However I learnt my lesson the hard way and now use cleaning cloths etc...

Im looking at "stocking up" my detailing stuff, what do you guys use for shampooing your car?? Any advice greatfully received

Thanks,

Nick.

Bilthambler AutoWash is highly regarded around here. I used Serious Performance shampoo for a bit but nearly run out. Get a wshing mitt and another bucket as well!

Really? Though the froth helps remove dirt that could scratch your paint. I use a mitt that cost me a pound lol.

Agree with AlanD,  AG Shampoo & Conditioner is very good at cleaning and is recommended on a few detailing sites.  AG isn't supposed to be foamy ( think it says it on the bottle ) aparently the important part with any shampoo is how it feels - em like,  put your hands in the bucket then rub your hands together....   if it feels slightly slimy ( only slightly ) then jobs a good un....  if not then your using crap shampoo....

I started using AG Shampoo about a month ago with good results...

Probably turn out to be totaly wrong   I'm still new at all this lark lol

If you like halfrauds, I'd go for megs gold class shampoo.

If you like online shops, go to elitecarcare and buy dodo juice born to be mild. Use the forum discount code too.
