Title: Exhaust Rattle

Hey guys,

Think my exhaust heat shielding is rattling. Is it easy to remove it? I need to do it soon because its bloody annoying!

Any guides anywhere? couldnt find anything on here :(

Which one is it? The backbox one? Or the manifold? or the cat?

I had mine removed when the exhaust came off. I dont think its hard to get off. Stick it up on axel stands and have a look would be your best bet. More than likely come off with a little tug. lol

take a heat shield off a BARGE with a little TUG .

i tried removing cat heat sheild today and my god its hard! ended up leaving it in place!

you could always buy new clips from vw for 50p and refit it  :wink: (unless its well rusty..then your fooked!)

exact same prob last weekend mine was rattling from back box. Put it up on axel stands and adheared it back as thread and most of bolt had rusted away now total silence with no cringe involved pulling away from petrol station
