Title: Dealer deals on new ??
Post by: qureshia on 14 June 2009, 13:02
Regret selling my r32 and GTI

After a year of 320d motoring I am looking for another mk5 (new or very near new and DSG)

Anyone know of any dealers with deals on at the moment??

Which is better Pirelli or E30 ??

I doubt you will find many new ones left as the mk6 is now in showrooms.

The only place I see with new ones is www.motorpoint.co.uk
Even so, they are imports and could have been built more than a year ago!!

Unfortunately, its not a good time to buy - the MK5 is holding its value very well at the moment...maybe give it 6mths for the MK6 to become more familiar and you may then find a good deal....

Which is better Pirelli or E30 ??
Difference is Pirelli has a tyretread patterned seat upholstery, some Pirelli alloys and a Pirelli badge. Otherwise identical. Pirellis are rarer than ED30s.

It would be edition 30 for me.

This may be controversial to some, but these forums are about opinions I guess....so heres mine...In my opinion Pirelli seats look like Wile E. Coyote  after a run in with roadrunner and the Acme truck...and the yellow stitching also leaves a lot to be desired. Ed30 seems to have more pedigree attached, romance...etc whereas I am not convinced that the pirelli was anything other than a marketers idea to allow VW to reach an economical production run beyond the stated target of,..what was it...lol 1500?

Though to be fair I have only seen 2 in the flesh. So yes they are rare and maybe I would warm to them, however these cosmetic things are only skin deep therein lies a great car...Ed30 for me.

i wouldnt complain with either of the 2. Only let down on the pirelli is those seats and the yellow stitching.. the fact that they are rare does make up for it a little though.
