Title: 16 v 3 door Oak Green Mark 2 Newbie .....well sort of
Post by: 16vrookie on 13 June 2009, 11:47
Hi

I have been visiting the forum for about a year now but never got round to posting so thought I needed to start so here goes

I have a 1990 big bumper 16v Oak Green Mark 2 with 161k on the clock I have owned if for just over a year. I went all the way up to Edinburgh to get it. Its completely standard and my plan is to restore it back to almost showroom condition.

I have spent most of the last year scouring the bay for bits of trim and parts and am now almost done on the bits and pieces of trim I need and the next jobs are fairly major .........so unfortunately things will slow up until funds allow more extensive work.

The car will need a full respray at some point as the paintwork is not great and both rear wheel arches are shot

The engine also needs some work as it has a small oil leak, a water leak and has now started having idling issues as well

This is the 2nd mark 2 I have had the last one was a 8valve 4 door which I owned for 7 years until I sold it 7 years ago..........I had been hankering after another mark 2 ever since and now I have one which I intend to keep forever as a second car.

I will post some pics up later
