Evening All,
I have '92 16v with an oil leak. It seems to be coming from one of the two plugs that sit above the oil cooler (the one closest to the engine). When i pull off the rubber boot cover that protects the connector it is full of oil - do these things leak oil, are they not a sealed unit??? The other is bone dry. Can these be sourced from GSF and if so does anyone know the part number?

Oil pressure sender, they can leak, I never had it on any of my 16v but on my Audi Coupe 2.6 it went badly, probably the same part. Just get a new one and replace it and it will be fine, genuine they cost about £15 IIRC.

I went to GSF today - they list four identical part's but with different codes at the end (a, b, c etc) with different colour heads denoting pressure. However, my one (brown) was not listed however there was one part number listed that did not denote a colour. Would anyone know the correct part number?

if you take it off the part number will be on it somewhere
id be tempted to get a genuine one, the gsf senders are a bit of a gamble imo

blue is the replacement colour for the brown switch, 028 919 081 D - 0.25bar

Thanks John, much appreciated.

Agreed, I had a GSF one fail within 24hrs. Gen ones all the way and not much more expensive.
