Title: considering a new wheel?
Post by: warnesey333 on 12 June 2009, 19:05
My current steering wheel is quite tattered and fading a lot.
I'm considering a new wheel, I don't want a momo or the racing ones, just a standard VW, maybe a MK4 R32 one or a MK5 standard if it will fit?

If anyone has had any experience could you suggest some ideas please?

Also, how difficult would it be to simply clean the wheel? Any special products people have used?

Appreciate your response,
Jack

Another option is getting your wheel re-trimmed.

What sort of cost are we talking about here?

Cheers

Mk5.................................... No fit!! :(

So best get saving for the R32 item!! :D

Your other options would be the Mk1 Octy vRS wheel, the Mk1 Leon Cupra R wheel, the Golf 25th Anni wheel & maybe the Mk1 S3 wheel, although I'm not sure about this one, as the Mk1 TT doesn't fit.

**EDIT** Sorry, the TT wheel fits, but you're existing airbag doesn't fit onto it!

The mk6 wheel does look sick but is so expensive.

Personally I don't think the mk6 one suits it at all.
