Title: Quick Detailer, Speed Detailer and Spray wax
Post by: Mikester on 11 June 2009, 22:45
Whats the differences? Im looking for something to use on my car once i have washed it to make it shine a bit more. The car has been waxed colonited and is freshly resprayed. So just want something to go over with once dried, and when it gets a bit dusty the day after?

So quick detialer in the red spray, rather than speed detailer.

Cool cool. Cheers, just there is 3 products, and they dont seem to sound any different.

Cheers

QD will be cheaper than what I have stated... but they all do near enough the same thing

I find the normal megs QD very effective

I always look at it like this:

Quick/speed detailer = 100% easy to apply, less protection, can be used as clay lube.

Spray Wax = Needs slightly more care in application/buffing, potentially loads of protection offered, not a lube.

get yourself a big bottle of  Megs last Touch  (http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/meguiars-last-touch-spray-detailer-1-gallon-378-litres.php)

I got some red mist, I found you have to buff it really well otherwise it leaves smeers on the paint. I also use megs last touch which is easy to use and give the same shine as red mist but it doesn't last as long

AG Aqua wax is really good for maintaining a deep shine and tight beads.

I just bought 5 litres for £24 from the AG stand at a recent show. Better than £12 for 500ml at Halfords

 I just used for the first time some Meg's Ultimate Quick Wax spray & found it started to lift the Collinite wax into little blobs even after it's sat in my garage for a month 'curing'??
It did polish away but I'm slightly concerned about the two products being compatible?
Could it have been because the bodywork was warm-ish after washing outside before hand in the sunshine, but then I put it back in my garage away from the sun to spray wax.. Even says on the bottle 'can be used in direct sunlight'... Weird!
