Post by: andc1 on 10 June 2009, 21:30

pretty much only the engine and wheels are any good! front seats go in but the forward/back sliders are on the wrong side so to move the seats you have to reach under and release the pin.

seat will need mods, belts might fit but mk2 belt clips are a different style to mk1 if its an early one so you';ll need to make sure you swap everything over.

it'll take a lot more than 'a bit of trimming' the frame work of the car is a totally different shape. the benches can be made to fit apparently, iirc the mk2 bench is actually a little narrower than a MK1?  if you have the bits, try it ;)

I tried to put some MK2 seats into a MK1 and It just don't work. The rails are set up different and to modify them is easier said than done.
.

The engine can be fitted but the Manifold faces a different way but that can be compensated for.
