Title: Bluetooth options on 57 plate R32?
Post by: oatz on 10 June 2009, 19:39
Bonjour

I have a MFSW and want to utilise the phone buttons as well as phonebook/caller ID being displayed on the highline.

My question is, what do I need to be able to do this. I have an Alpine xda 001 and have thought about the bolt-on alpine bluetooth option, not sure whether this is compatible with the mfsw and highline?? - oh and must also work with Iphone 3g

Links would be great, many, many, many thanks in advance

You need the Fiscon Basic kit

see here:

http://fiscon-mobile.com/products/index.php

The pro kit is the same but works with the RNS 510 and allows touch screen operation as well as all the usual info on the Highline. If you dont have the RNS 510 then dont get the pro kit. I have the Fiscon pro and it works brilliantly.

As R32 mentioned above there is loads of info on vwnavi.com

Did you just order this online? Is it easy to install?

I have a MKVI GTI with RNS510 on order. I have also ordered the VW Bluetooth but it looks like my Samsung Tocco F480 is not compatible and i am likely going to cancel this as it is a waste of GBP380 and it is not yet on the factory floor being built.

I take it from your comments it will basically do what the VW kit should do but its just not factory fitted.

Any help or comments are welcome? Thanks Neil
