There's a car on pistonheads, it's modified though although to a reasonable standard. xenons, ED30 steering wheel and handbrake, black pescaras... hang on http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1066867.htm thats easier!
Firstly he reckons it has differant injectors, any ideas?
Also the sat nav doesn't look genuine, athough he says it is, looks like on of them ebay unit to me?
Don't suppose anyone knows the car?

Cant help with the rest but thats one of the version C MFD2's with the silver buttons so it was the latest version before the rns510. Think they were out from about 2006/07 onwards.
PS I'm not a sat nav geek but I did some research before I bought mine about a couple of weeks ago :nerd:

Strange hes got an ED30 steering wheel! Why hes put a DV on it I dont know!

Agreed the Sat Nav is aftermarket as it is MY 2007 (MFD2 with silver buttons available on late 2006 GTI's), but it is a genuine VW part. Sharks fin aerial looks genuine as well. Steering wheel appears to be from an Ed 30, but again a genuine VW part. Car looks to have been sympathetically updated using genuine VW parts and that's no bad thing.
DV probably failed or replaced as preventative maintenance, so that's why it has been replaced. It's a known weak point in the GTI and a basic 'performance' modification - most likely a Forge replacement item.
Looks/sounds like a straight car owned by an enthusiast but you need to view it and make your own opinion if you are interested in buying

The problem as always is the 6 hour's travel to view what could be a waste of time/money.
Am seriously considering another I have found now. Only problem is it's near Glasgow and I am 5 minutes from Cornwall!! :embarassed:
Seller had sent me 40+ photo's of everything worth looking at which is great, obviously has nothing to hide!
Just trying to negotiate on price to make it worth while.

You'll know when you find the right one.
Good luck

The sat nav is probably factory fitted... it looks like it has the highline display, sharkfin, and the heater vent nobs have a silver infill thing... this change came about the same time as the silver buttons on all radio units did for the model year
Quick way of finding out is if it doesnt need the keycode after the battery is reconnected (they are paired up to the ECU during build)
Does look a nice example though, I'd probably ditch the mudflaps personally

I thought it had the highline as well but couldn't quite tell. Its odd that he went to the bother of changing the steering wheel but not for a MFSW :undecided:
