Title: Quick 8v digi temp sender question

Hi, I know we hear a lot about the 'blue' temp sender but there are actually two that look the same on the front water flange, just the connectors that go on to them are blue or black on mine. Are these two temp senders supposed to be the same or are they different part numbers? Thanks

no not the same, one should be blue (ecu) the other black (dash temp gauge)

Hmm! Cleaned them up, both black on mine, was suspicious because the latest arrival has blue at the back and black at the front. More expense, just flushed and changed the coolant as well......bu**er!   :rolleyes:

new blue sender is 13+vat from vw, and if you do it with engine stone cold you wont loose more than a few drops o coolant ;)
