Hi folks, ive had my mkV gti for a few months now and am lovin it.
I have a question regarding the kick down with the dsg box.
I decided to go a run to Elgin last wend, put her into M mode and after exiting a round about put my foot down. ( all the way down .) To my surprise the box down shifted for me, is this how it should work??? as i thought having it in M mode ment I change gears with paddles or gear stick!!
I know dsg will down shift on its own in M mode when slowing down but not when you put the foot down.

It will still kick down in M mode. It will also change up for you when you get to the red line.

You can prevent the kick-down by holding the '- paddle' while pressing your foot into the kickdown switch.
There is no need to go into the kick-down switch if you are looking for full throttle as just prior to hitting the switch is WOT. The kickdown switch is for immediate acceleration not for full throttle.
