Title: broken bonnet catch

not a golf but our mk5 jetta(2007) has a broken bonnet catch, is there anyway of opening the bonnet to fix it.

if it's like the Mk5 GTi then removing the inner arch liner on the driver side should give you access to the cable.

tried that but the cable has broke or came of at the catch so i need to get into it at the bonnet if this is possible

i have this problem, at the moment,

if you take the badge out of the front grill you will see 2 screws going through the bonnet catch, undoo them, then at the bottom of you grill there should be 2 screws holding the front grill/mask in, undoo them and prize the grill upwards, if you look in the hole (where your badge was) then you should be able to see a third screw behind the grill (whilst prising up) once youve got at this screw then the bonnet will lift up with the lock still on the bonnet,
